The Eight Bells has seen many changes over the years, yet still retains the charm and character of a village pub. Originally licensed in 1607 as an inn, and called the Five Bells, in keeping at that time with the number of bells in the church tower. Its name was changed to the Eight Bells in 1771 with the addition of three more bells in the Church! Located in the quintessentially English village of Long Crendon, the Eight Bells sits in the Vale of Aylesbury and the village is host to the national trusts old courthouse and many other nearby attractions. Its picturesque cottages and period architecture make it a favourite location for the popular Midsomers Murders television programme. Paul & Sarah Mitchell are delighted to be to be supporting the local community by providing a fantastic place to meet, relax and enjoy a drink and fantastic fresh, seasonal food.
