Kathryn Aalto is an American teacher, designer, speaker, and New York Times best-selling writer of creative nonfiction focused on the natural world. For the past twenty-five years, her creative practice has fused nature and culture: teaching the literature of nature and place; designing beautiful and sustainable gardens; writing about the natural world. Based in England, she teaches popular online and live writing courses, mentors aspiring writers, and leads writing retreats. “I strive to create compelling narratives: for readers in words, for clients in plants. As a teacher, I am committed to teaching with integrity and helping each student experience transformative individual growth through the literary arts.
