started yoga at the age of 19 my body was flexible and strong I started with the Iyengar School and loved the precision and strong holds of the Asanas. The main reason I started was due to health issues and my GP advised me to go to yoga he said it would help. That was my start and I never looked back. My health issues improved straight away, and as my journey began I started to enjoy not only the stretch and strength but also the amazing breathing techniques that helped me with pain and the gift of relaxation. I was a yoga junkie and couldn’t get enough I moved to the Hatha Yoga School and found the teachings of the traditional style fascinating. I found that as my journey begun to unfold, slowly and I was encouraged to start teaching training not knowing where it would lead me. Today after 35 years of yoga I am now a teacher trainer with a school of excellence in London, and have been helping other would be students on their journey and path. Over the years students have reached their full potential with my school. They come to my school with one idea of what style of teacher they wish to be and leave with more richer teachings and strong foundations to follow the wonderful path. All the students from the yoga conscious school have gone on the be excellent teachers on their journey, some have continued in gyms, some in private health settings, some in children yoga, and vinyasa, meditation, with a balanced and nurturing training they leave full of confidence and go away with inspiring classes. My own yoga over the years has changed with time, as our bodies change, we find our never ending yoga will always be with us and serve us. If we continue to adhere to the traditional teachings this becomes a way of life, and we develop, we are left with the breath always and I have found in times of life changes helpful and a life saver. Many people come to yoga classes for so many reasons to get fit, to become flexible, to release anxiety, if the teacher is inspiring they soon begin to realise that yoga will change their life. What is the first thing we say in times of stress or panic BREATH - I myself breath, live and yoga everyday, my journey has given me the confidence over the years, to work in therapy yoga, in cancer, women's health, PTSD, Diabetes and general yoga, pregnancy yoga. With all this experience I decided to train teachers and pass on the knowledge. I run a successful studio, retreats, and training, and hope to continue to do this until the last breath. Dawn
