Following several repeat performances for Burns Suppers and OTC Graduation Balls, we welcome the invitation to present our services here to the others in the Armed Forces.
We're a 4-piece band with two fiddles, accordion/caller and guitar.
Da Hooley Ceilidh Band are an Edinburgh-based band with 20 year’s experience of playing for weddings, parties, student balls & bashes, fundraisers and all manner of occasions. Check our testimonials and you'll find we have a solid reputation for creating a lively, energetic atmosphere with the emphasis firmly on fun and participation.
Our music is a combination of Scottish, Irish, American and even Galician tunes. We have a large repertoire of dances to suit all levels of ability but the accent is always on ensuring as many folk as possible feel keen to get up and dance, especially if they are new to ceilidh dancing. We will usually start the evening with a few of the more well-known dances such as Gay Gordon's and Dashing White Sergeant before introducing more high-energy and entertaining set dances tempered with an occasional waltz or couple dance and, of course, a Reel of the 51st if required!
All dances can be expertly and entertainingly called. Our caller has a wireless headset which allows me to move freely around the room arranging dancers and demonstrating the dances as required.
