The Lion, previously The Red Lion, dates back to at least 1869 as a pub. It was extended around 26 years ago and now seats 65 in the restaurant along with 26 in the bar area.
The Lion at Leavenheath is a family run business that was purchased in 2013. Since our takeover we have been working hard to put The Lion back to its former glory.
With the team in the kitchen producing superb fresh food using local produce and supplier such as J Coleman’s butchers in Boxted supplying all of our quality meats.
As for the bar we stock a good range of wines to accompany your meal as well as draft lagers and rotational real ales from the good local breweries we have in the area.
Finally, children are always welcome at The Lion and have their own menu to enjoy.
