Ethiopian Airlines is the fastest-growing airline in Africa and the second-largest carrier in Africa. Ethiopian Airlines is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The company was founded on 22nd July 1945 by a group of people from different walks of life and with varied experiences. The first flight was launched on 8th April 1946, with a flight between Addis Ababa and Cairo. It was voted Airline of the Year by Skytrax at the 2018 World Airline Awards ceremony in London on September 27th, 2018. Ethiopian Airlines is also one of only six airlines that fly to Israel from Africa. Ethiopian Airlines has been awarded Skytrax’s “Best Airline in Africa” for ten consecutive years from 2007 to 2017.
